Apple Vision Pro teardown: Japanese companies supply 40% of parts

Sony's high-end display offers new experience to headset device

Nikkei disassembled and analyzed an Apple Vision Pro, which went on sale in February.

TOKYO -- A teardown of Apple's new headset device, Apple Vision Pro, revealed that Japanese companies are its leading component suppliers, accounting for 42% of parts on a cost basis, including a pair of Sony Group's high-definition displays.

Nikkei disassembled the device after it went on sale in the U.S. earlier this month with the help of Tokyo-based researcher Fomalhaut Techno Solutions.
