ASEAN and Australia move closer on climate and economic security

MELBOURNE -- Australia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations are marking 50 years of cooperative relations with a special summit that is expected to discuss deepening joint efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the region.

Senior officials and business representatives met Monday as part of the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit, ahead of a leaders' summit to be held on Wednesday.
