Ghibli's 'Totoro' steals hearts, minds and accolades on London stage

After 2 successful runs, producers say future 'very positive' for iconic show

LONDON -- World-renowned film director Hayao Miyazaki can afford to be particular about the legacy of his beloved characters.

This is why, under the guidance of composer Joe Hisaishi, "My Neighbour Totoro" made its theatrical debut in 2022 at London's Barbican Theatre, where the production is being staged by the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) and directed by Phelim McDermott.
