BANGKOK/YANGON -- Myanmar's military government said it will exempt women for the time being from mandatory conscription set to begin in late April, in what may be a response to public outcry over the move.
"At present, there are no intentions to include women in the conscript pool," regime spokesman Zaw Min Tun said Tuesday.
