SINGAPORE -- Singapore Telecommunications on Wednesday announced a tie-up with Nvidia to deploy artificial intelligence capabilities in its data centers across Southeast Asia as data demand in the region booms on the back of the growing digital economy.

Singtel will provide remote access to the U.S. chipmaker's graphics processor units through its regional data centers in phases. This will allow clients to adopt AI technology for digital services without owning or maintaining the costly processors.
